Spondylitis
Spondylitis is a spinal condition in which vertebrae and spinal joints become inflamed. This term can also be used to describe other conditions that deal with inflammation of the spine. Spondylitis falls under the sphere of arthritis related spinal conditions. Different types of spondylitis include ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter’s syndrome, psoriatic arthritis and enteropathic arthritis. Spondylitis can affect the cervical, thoracic and lumbar area of the spine. If left untreated, this condition may permanently alter the structure of the spine.

- Existing Conditions: Different spinal conditions such as osteoarthritis, a spinal infection, rheumatoid arthritis and various others can contribute to this condition.
